On 25 January 2019, pursuant to the Supreme Court Act 1887 s3, Her Excellency the Governor appointed several former judges as part-time acting judges of the Court, each for a term of two years.
The appointees were:
- The Honourable Brian Ross Martin AO QC, a former Chief Justice of the Northern Territory;
- The Honourable Shane Raymond Marshall, a former judge of the Federal Court of Australia; and
- The Honourable David James Porter QC, a former judge of this Court.
