SUPREME COURT BICENTENARY EVENTS – May 2024

On 10 May 2024 the Supreme Court will celebrate its bicentenary.  The Supreme Court of Van Diemen’s Land was created by the Third Charter of Justice in 1824 and the first sitting of the Court occurred in Hobart Town on 10 May 1824.  The Court was first housed in a building on the corner of Murray and Macquarie Streets, now part of the Treasury Building.
